Jeffrey's Bay

The legendary surfing town of Jeffery’s Bay was made famous by the cult surfing class ‘The Endless Summer’ in the 1960’s. As Jeffery’s Bay is renowned for having one of the best surf waves in the world, it now plays host to the ‘ASP World Surfing Championships’ in July each year. So if you want to live out your hippy surfing fantasy, then Jeffery’s Bay is the place for you. If you are not yet a world class surfer, Jeffery’s Bay also has a number of surf schools that will help you on the way. Don’t be intimidated by Jeffery’s Bay reputation for having huge and powerful waves, as there are also beaches that offer small, gentle waves that are perfect for beginners.
 

If surfing is not your thing, Jeffery’s Bay also has many opportunities for bird watchers and anglers with the Abeljous Nature Reserve nearby. The ‘walk around’ Jeffery’s Bay’s Abeljous Nature Reserve is a great way to explore the reserve which is renowned for its vast array of Fish and Water birds.
