Description

Begin your experience at the Plettenberg Bay marina, where you will board the boat and receive life jackets and ponchos if needed. After a short safety briefing, the boat launches through the surf onto the open sea.

The route varies with weather, wildlife activity, and sea conditions, but typically starts by heading east past the bird sanctuary along Keurbooms Beach towards Arch Rock. Here, expect to encounter Bottlenose dolphins, rare Indo-Pacific Humpback dolphins, and some shark species.

From Arch Rock, cross the bay spotting pelagic seabirds usually found 7 kilometers offshore. Keep an eye out for Bryde’s whales and common dolphins. The journey continues to the wild side of Robberg Peninsula, where whales and dolphin pods are occasionally seen.

Return along the inner waters of Robberg Peninsula to observe its distinctive rock formations and the growing Cape Fur Seal Colony. At certain times of the year, Great White Sharks may be visible in the area.

The tour concludes with a cruise along Robberg Beach, accompanied by a brief history of the local area. After passing the Beacon Island Hotel, originally a whaling station site, the trip ends with a beach landing on Central Beach.
