Altes Landhaus Lodge
Gardenroute
Altes Landhaus, a gracious 100 year old Cape Dutch style homestead was bought in 1994 and many lovely features were restored. Elegant décor and antiques, oregan pine floor boards and high beamed ceilings have resulted in recreating an elegant and luxurious tribute to the homesteads past. Beautifully maintained gardens and a solar heated salt-water swimming pool (with a pool bar) ensure guests can cool off during the hot summer days and the short pitch-and-putt hole and separate practise green are ideal for golfers to brush up on their game.
Situated in the Schoemanshoek Valley just 14 kms from Oudtshoorn in the Little Karoo, Altes Landhaus is surrounded by the renowned fragrant scents and fresh Karoo air. Perfectly situated, it is an ideal location from where you can explore the many attractions in the Little Karoo and then to venture a little further to experience everything the Garden Route is famous for.
The hotel’s surrounding gardens and grounds have a wonderful variety of birdlife and guests can be entertained watching ostriches on neighbouring farms.
If the idea of reading and relaxing appeals to you there is a gracious lounge with two welcoming fireplaces for chilly winter evenings.
