Teniqua Treetops
Gardenroute
If the image of living in a tree house in acres of pristine indigenous Garden Route forest appeals to you, look no further than Teniqua Treetopshigh in the foothills of the ancient Outeniqua mountain range, and situated along South Africa's magical Garden Route, close to the magnificent sea shores of the South/Western Cape, South Africa. Teniqua Treetops is a unique tented tree house resort offering an excellent choice of alternative Garden Route accommodation.
At Teniqua Treetops you will truly find a little piece of heaven incorporating luxury tented accommodation set on hand crafted platforms each in their own private and carefully chosen beauty spot. Teniqua Treetops offers unique Garden Route accommodation for nature lovers and their aim is to ensure the long term sustainability of the indigenous forest.
When you leave Teniqua Treetops be prepared to feel relaxed, reinvigorated and rejuvenated. Your body will have slowed to the rhythm of the garden Route's African forest, your mind will have unwound and the stresses and anxieties of city life will have gently melted away.
Choose from 8 self-catering, fully equipped and serviced tree houses built with the emphasis on environmental preservation and the maximum use of natural products and materials in construction and functionality. Each tree house has been perfectly placed where natural gaps were left after extracting the non-indigenous trees. Forget your childhood memories of rough ‘camping’ – staying at Teniqua Treetops will ensure many ‘never to be forgotten’ wonderful memories. Each tree house is secluded and different and chilly nights make the electric blankets on the tented double beds very welcome. The tree houses ensure you have a unique opportunity to sleep, eat and shower up in the canopy of the forest and the 4 honeymoon tree houses all have large 2 person baths either open or with large glass windows looking over the forest. Your peace and quiet will only be disturbed by bird song or wind in the trees, and on occasion, if the wind is from the right direction, the sound of the sea.
Not many guest houses could even try to compete – to say Teniqua Treetops accommodation is ‘green’ is an understatement – rainwater is harvested, as little energy as possible is used and the dry-composing toilets are only a few of the ways the carbon footprint of Teniqua is kept to a minimum. Teniqua Treetops endorses the vision of a cleaner world for all. They are an eco-friendly Garden Route resort. Climate change is a big concern and they actively try to minimize their energy usage whilst ensuring the long term sustainability of the indigenous forest on their farm.
