Description
Embark on a 9-day adventure combining Cape Town’s city attractions with the natural landscapes of the Garden Route.
Day 1-2: Cape Town (Unguided)
Begin with accommodation pickup or airport transfer in Cape Town. Enjoy two independent days with a City Sightseeing bus pass and Table Mountain cableway ticket included. Optional visits include Kirstenbosch Gardens and V&A Waterfront. One evening features a GOLD restaurant dinner and African-inspired show.
Day 3: Cape Point (Guided)
Join a small-group tour along Chapman’s Peak Drive (weather permitting). Visit Boulders Beach to view African penguins from the walkways (beach entry extra), then explore the Cape of Good Hope National Park. Overnight at Never@Home Backpackers or 4-star Garden Court Victoria Junction.
Day 4: Travel to Oudtshoorn (Guided)
Travel Route 62 with a wine tasting stop before arriving in Oudtshoorn, known for ostrich farming. Overnight options include Uthando Backpackers or 4-star Hlangana Lodge (optional upgrade).
Day 5: Cango Caves & Addo (Guided)
Tour the limestone chambers of Cango Caves. Continue to Addo National Park for a safari by tour bus. Stop at a local padstal for traditional South African treats such as bobotie, roosterkoek, koeksisters, and melktert. Overnight near Addo at Avoca Backpackers or 4-star Addo Wildlife Lodge.
Day 6: Addo & Jeffreys Bay (Guided)
Enjoy a morning safari in Addo Elephant National Park by tour bus. Travel to Jeffreys Bay, South Africa’s surf capital. Optional activities include surfing and beach horseback riding or relaxing on the beach. Overnight at Island Vibe Backpackers or 4-star On The Beach Guesthouse.
Day 7: Tsitsikamma Area (Guided)
Choose adventure activities, available at extra cost, such as bungy jumping from Bloukrans Bridge or ziplining over waterfalls. Visit Knysna Heads and explore Garden Route National Park. Overnight at Pili-pilli Backpackers or 4-star Protea Knysna Quays.
Day 8: Wilderness Area (Guided)
Drive the scenic coast, stopping at Mossel Bay for a 4x4 safari at Botlierskop Private Game Reserve to spot Big Five species. Return to Cape Town or Stellenbosch in the evening. Overnight at Never@Home Backpackers or 4-star Garden Court Victoria Junction.
Day 9: Farewell – Free Day (Unguided)
Spend a final free day in Cape Town for shopping or optional activities such as cruises, shark cage diving, or wine tasting (subject to flight time). Includes airport transfer to Cape Town International Airport.
