Superbly positioned on the rocks below Mossel Bay’s famous St Blaize Lighthouse is The Lighthouse Restaurant. Guests will be in awe of the magnificent views and will delight in the tranquil surroundings. The view of the rocky shore line and the sea gives The Lighthouse one of the most dramatic settings along the world famous Garden Route. The Lighthouse Restaurantis located off the foyer of the Point Hotel and non-residents are welcome.
The Lighthouse Restaurant offers a diverse A La Carte menu which is available in the restaurant and from room service, from 10h00 am until 23h00pm. Our delicious Buffet Breakfasts are served from 07h00 to 10h00 weekdays and 07h00 11h00 on weekends..
Just below the Restaurant is an amazing tidal pool – the largest on the South African coastline. It is formed from natural rocks and is popular even during low tide as it offers safe bathing. This area is also frequented by local and international surfers. It is well worth visiting.
After a delicious meal why not walk along the famous St Blaize walking trail which follows a contour path for 15 klm to the stunning Dana Bay.
The St Blaize Lighthouse, erected in 1864, is an historical site of interest for tourists with amazing views of the Indian Ocean. The Khoi-San Cave is directly below the lighthouse and was originally inhabited by the indigenous Khoi-San people. This is the site where Bartholomeu Diaz was first witnessed during his historic discovery voyage of the Southern Cape.
